All students residing within the City & Borough of Juneau will be assessed all applicable student fees based on all UAS Juneau courses.


2011-2012 Fees

Campus Technology Fee
Per credit: $5
(Maximum $60)
*Refundable
The technology fee funds improvements to instructional technology and services at each campus. Examples include computers in open labs, digitized library materials, staff- ing for labs and support services. Each campus consults with representatives of the student body as well as staff and faculty in prioritizing the use of the fee.

Network Access Fee
Lower Division: $3 per credit
Upper Division: $4 per credit
Graduate: $7 per credit
*Refundable
The purpose of the network charge is to cover rapidly rising costs, especially in the maintenance and enhancement of our university-wide technology infrastructure. The charge will be applied at a 2% rate on a course-by-course basis to tuition, non- resident surcharges if applicable, and fees in lieu of tuition, for credit and non-credit courses. Courses with applicable fees less than the lower division credit hour tuition rate will be exempt for the charge. All calculated fees will be rounded to the nearest dollar.

Student Governance
Non-refundable, unless classes are cancelled by the University.
Juneau: $5 per credit, capped at $75
Ketchikan: $1 per credit

Student Health Fee (Juneau only)
Applies to Fall/Spring terms
Non refundable
6 or more credits: $45

Recreation Center (Juneau only)
Non refundable
1-4 credits: Students must pay a fee to use facility
5 credits or more: $150

Student Alumni Fee (Juneau Only)
*Refundable
Applies to Fall term
$15/year optional fee charged to students taking 6 or more credits during the fall semester. Students must notify UAS cashier or Alumni Office if they would like to opt out of the fee two weeks following the start of the Fall term. Students starting in the Spring will need to notify the UAS Alumni Office for membership.

Certificate and Assoc. Level Admission Fee: $40
Bachelor Level Admissions Processing Fee: $50
Graduate Level Admissions Processing Fee: $60
Graduation Fee: $50 (remit with application)

Housing Parking Fees (Juneau Only)
Rate is $100 per vehicle for the academic year.

Transcript Requests
Electronic transcripts are $12 each.
Regular paper processing is $15 per transcript (7-14 business days to process.
Expedited paper processing add a $30.00 fee to entire order (1-3 business days to process).
In order to process a transcript request, the following information must be provided: name(s), signature, social security number, and dates of attendance. Fax requests with signature will be accepted. For more information on Transcript Requests, visit the Registrar's Website.

Credit-by-Examination Fees
$50 per credit

Music Private Lesson
$80 per credit: or higher for master lessons

Distance Fee
Lower Division: $40 per course
Upper division & Graduate: $75 per course

Student Health Insurance
Rates vary according to coverage selected. Note: All international students must carry health insurance or prove personal coverage.

Lab/Materials Fees
A lab/material fee may be charged for certain courses that require the use of special materials, supplies, services, or equipment as noted in course descriptions.

* Fee is refundable if student requests to opt out by the last day to drop classes with 100% refund. (See Academic Calendar for 100% refund dates)
