Managing your Content in Breeze

When presentations are published from Powerpoint to the Breeze server, they are stored in a content folder. Each user has one home folder which they can further divide into subfolders for organizational purposes. Before you publish material it is recommended that you set up a folder structure.

To manage and access your Breeze content, you must first log in to the Breeze server. You can do this via the internet and your web browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape) or you can access your account via the Powerpoint Breeze Menu and the Manage Account option. If you enter through the Breeze Powerpoint menu, you may delete Steps 1-3 below.

To login to the Breeze Server via the internet:

  1. Open the web browser
  2. In the address bar, enter the following address for the server: http://breeze5.uas.alaska.edu
  3. At this point, it is recommended that you bookmark this site.
  4. The login page for Breeze will open(See figure below). Enter your Login and Password and click on the Login button.
  5. Your Breeze homepage will open. Click on the content tab. You will now see a list of all folders you have created or content you have published.
  6. To add a folder click on the New Folder button. The screen shown below opens. Enter the folder name in the text box and Click the save Button.

The screen changes to show the contents of your new folder, which is now empty. Click on the Up One Level button to return to the main folder. Your new folder will now appear in the list.
  7. To delete any folder or presentation, click on the check box in front of the item and press the delete key. When asked to confirm the deletion click on the Delete button as seen in the figure below.
  8. To move an item, click on the check box located in front of the item. A new screen will open asking where you wish to move the item (see example below). Select the folder to move the item to and click on the Move button.
  9. Due to the fact that no student accounts are being created, the Set Permissions button serves no real purpose. This is because it allows you to change from a public to private presentation and to select who may view a private presentation.
  10. The New Content Button will allow you to upload content of the following types to the Breeze server: .ppt, .ppc, .flv, .swf, and .jpg. The content will then be assigned a link for viewing. This can be useful as a way to present a video to users without embedding it in your Breeze presentation.
