Note- To publish material using Breeze, you must work on a PC. There
is currently no plug-in available for Apple computers. The PC must also
have Powerpoint 2000 or higher installed for the plugin to function
properly.
In addition to these requirements you will need to have a microphone
to record your voice. The best choice is the headset type with an
attached boom mike. They can be purchased at most computer stores for
around $20.
If you are using campus computers they will have Breeze installed.
Installation Process
Make sure Powerpoint is not open on your computer.
This
installation wizard window opens as shown below. Click on next to
continue. You will then be shown windows asking you to accept the
license agreement for the Presenter plugin and select which drive you
want to install the software on.
The Program will now copy the necessary files to your hard drive.
When the setup is complete you will see the window below.
Some users receive an error message at this point if they have certain versions of Flash installed.
To resolve this you will have to uninstall Flash and reinstall it. The instructions are here.
Configuring Breeze
The Breeze options will now appear in you Powerpoint menu bar as highlighted below.
Once the plug-in is installed, you need to be sure the publishing options are properly configured.
Click
on Breeze in the Powerpoint menu bar and then click on Preferences in
the menu. The Preferences dialog box opens shown below. Click on the
Audio Source Tab and confirm that the Microphone radio button is
selected and that the check box labeled "Always prompt to set
microphone level before recording" is selected. Click on the close
button to close the Breeze Presenter Preferences dialog box. The Breeze
options in the Microsoft Breeze menu are now ready to use.
